About the 2008 Competition
In 2008, the BBB International Torch Awards (formerly the BBB International Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics) will honor two businesses and one individual in the following categories:
- Marketplace Excellence - presented to a business in recognition of their superior commitment to exceptional standards that benefit their customers, employees, suppliers, shareholders and surrounding communities. This category is open to all for-profit businesses in North America that provide goods or services to retail and/or wholesale markets.
- Advancing Marketplace Trust - presented to a business in recognition of an action, program, or sustainment activities that significantly and positively contribute to advancing trust in the marketplace. Nominees for this category are selected via a closed nomination process.
- Consumer Leadership - presented to an individual who has significantly advanced marketplace trust through consumer advocacy, protection or education, through a specific action or lifetime achievement. Nominees for this category are selected via a closed nomination process.
The entry deadline for the 2008 BBB International Torch Awards competition is Thursday, November 1, 2007.
Please review judging criteria, contest guidelines, and how to enter info before preparing and submitting your entry package for the Marketplace Excellence award. A $75.00 non-refundable application fee is required at the time of entry. Semi-finalists will be selected by mid-December 2007, and finalists and the winner will be notified by January 31, 2008.
